1 – IELTS Speaking Part 1

Các bạn có thể tham khảo một số câu hỏi dưới đây liên quan đến Job & Study:

a) Are you a student or do you work?Bạn là sinh viên hay đang đi làm?

Đây là câu hỏi vô cùng quen thuộc khi bắt đầu phần thi nói, vì thế tuyệt đối đừng để mất bình tĩnh khi bắt gặp một câu hỏi đơn giản này nhé.

  • Ý tưởng 1: I am a student. More specifically, I’m a college student majoring in business management. I’ll graduate next year.
  • Ý tưởng 2: I work. More specifically, I work at a marketing agency. I have been working for three years.

b) Câu hỏi liên quan đến “Study” học tập

b.1 – Why did you choose your major? Tại sao bạn chọn chuyên ngành đó?

  • Ý tưởng 1: I choose business management mainly because I’m more likely to get hired with a degree in that field. These days, getting a job is a big concern for college students. Therefore, I wanted to invest my time and money in a major that would pay off.
    • more likely to ~: có khả năng cao => more likely to get hired: dễ kiếm việc
    • degree (n): bằng cấp, concern (n) mối quan tâm, lo ngại, invest (v) đầu tư
    • a major that would pay off: một chuyên ngành đáng đồng tiền bát gạo.
  • Ý tưởng 2: I was interested in studying business management mainly because it is more easier for me to look for a stable job with a good salary in the future.
    • to be interested in ~: có hứng thú với ~

b.2 – What do you learn while studying your major? Bạn học gì trong chuyên ngành của mình?

  • Trọng tâm: I have to take couses in management theory, accounting, and business ethics.
  • Diễn giải: Since I’m majoring in business administration, I have to study a lot of varied subjects like those. I think that will give me the skills I need to get a job after graduation.
    • take a course: học khóa học – management theory (n) lý thuyết quản trị
    • accounting (n) kế toán – business ethics (n) đạo đức kinh doanh
    • be majoring in ~: chuyên ngành là ~

b.3 – What are you going to do after graduation? Bạn sẽ làm gì sau khi tốt nghiệp?

  • Trọng tâm: I’ll be looking for a job, most likely.
  • Diễn giải: However, if things don’t work out, I will take a break and travel overseas. Since I’ve never been to Europe, I think that’s probably where I’ll be headed.
    • look for ~: tìm kiếm
    • most likeky: chắc là vậy
    • work out: suôn sẻ
    • take a break: nghỉ nghơi một thời gian
    • head: (hướng) đến

b.4 – Do you prefer to study in the morning or in the afternoon? Bạn thích học vào buổi sáng hay buổi chiều?

  • Trọng tâm: My mind is usually clear in the morning, so I prefer to study then.
  • Diễn giải: Also, by finishing all my assignments early, I free up my afternoons and evenings. I can spend that time meeting my friends, playing games, or doing sports.
    • free up: rảnh rỗi – assignment: bài tập

c) Câu hỏi liên quan đến nghề nghiệp (Job)

c.1 – Why did you choose your job? Tại sao bạn chọn công việc của bạn?

  • Ý tưởng 1:
    • Trọng tâm: Generally speaking, because the pay was great.
    • Diễn giải: When I was in college, I took out a student loan. Therefore, being able to make a lot of money was a priority for me when choosing a job.
      • Generally speaking: về cơ bản
      • loan: nợ
      • priority: ưu tiên
  • Ý tưởng 2:
    • Trọng tâm: Frankly speaking, it is related to my college major.
    • Diễn giải: Mainly because when I was a student, I studied communication at college for 4 years, and becoming a journalist was my dream job.
      • Frankly speaking: thú thực
      • study communication at college: học chuyên ngành truyền thông
      • a dream job: công việc mơ ước
      • a journalist: một nhà báo

c.2 – What is the best thing about your job? Điều gì tốt nhất trong công việc của bạn?

  • Trọng tâm: What I like most about my job is that I get to work with such nice people.
  • Diễn giải: Even though I haven’t been there long, they seen to really care for me. For example, when I have a struggle with work, they come to me and give me useful advice.
    • care for ~: chăm sóc, quan tâm ai đó
    • have a struggle: gặp phải khó khăn
    • get to work with ~: làm việc cùng với

c.3 – What do you not like about your job? Điều gì bạn không thích trong công việc của bạn?

  • Trọng tâm: The only thing I don’t like is that I am freequently expected to work overtime.
  • Diễn giải: Last week, for example, I had to work late 4 out of 5 days. The workload is simply too heavy.
    • freequently: thường xuyên
    • expect: yêu cầu, dự tính
    • work late: làm thêm giờ
    • workload: khối lượng công việc
